Jasmine what makes/made you want to play music?
“My mum is a musician and always encouraged creativity. She said that I cried for 18 months straight when I was born. I remember playing shows on a stage at my day care to all my friends. Music allowed me to have a voice.”

Lance Lapointe
Tuesday, January 9
Jamie’s Rainforest Inn
Free • 9-11pm • All ages
Lance is a prolific songwriter that got his roots from growing up on the west coast of Vancouver Island. At the age of 16, Lance was writing full time with a band from Nanaimo and was soon signed to Velvet Records. At this time, Lance was writing about everything around him while playing at numerous venues around Toronto and then down in the States. Three years later, Lance decided to write for his own project and moved back to Vancouver. After teaming up with Producer Brian Howes and best friend JVP, Lance and his new team started writing songs that are still charting all over! Recently, Lance wrote a catchy little song called ‘Girl” which infuses his roots, surf vibe with an RnB feel.

However you look at it, Lance Lapointe is helping to keep the heart and soul of music alive on the west coast and hopefully abroad very soon. His solo acoustic show captivates audiences from all over the world.
His cover band, BiPolar Bear was rated Victoria’s number 1 group from Vancouver Island Tourism Magazine.
Daniel Champagne
Tuesday, January 16
Jamie’s Rainforest Inn
Free • 9-11pm • All ages
One reviewer wrote — Daniel Champagne is a crossroads. Fusing the strong traditions of Blues, Folk and other roots art with pop showmanship and admirable lyrical ability.”
The story goes that the young Australian singer, songwriter and one-of-a-kind guitar virtuoso first picked up his instrument of choice as a five-year-old following in the footsteps of a musical father. He began writing songs at 12, training classically throughout his teens and performing solo wherever he could, honing his craft and developing what would become the dynamite live show that he is renowned for today. Now regarded as a leading light in acoustic music, with a firm reputation for making festivals buzz, holding crowds in his palm, and dropping jaws wherever he goes.
Will Ross
Thursday, January 18

Free • 9pm • 19+

A mix of Southern Ontario blues with a west coast flare, he has been compared to such artists as The Dave Matthews Band, John Butler, Neil Young, Sublime, and more. Will brings harmonica to the table along with his great voice and guitar. This band is a powerhouse of multiple percussionists, Keys, Saxophone and Bass. Her jazz infused indie pop style is refreshing and perfected. Her voice is timeless and rich with depth which is especially impressive considering she is 23.
